Destiny’s Child had a deeper love for each other. There was no talk of Beyoncé Knowles leaving the group. There was not even a hint of a whisper LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson would be unceremoniously replaced in February 2000 by Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin. Destiny’s Child embodied young and innocent happy teenagers, close friends lounging side-by-side on a king-size bed.
Destiny’s Child projected an air of confidence and there was a sense of anticipation in the air. The Writing’s On The Wall was complete. Its soon-to-be-unveiled leadoff single “Bills, Bills, Bills” a few weeks away on the release schedule slated for a June 14, 1999, release. Beyoncé spoke on her love and appreciation of the group’s European fan base and mentioned she was interested in acting. The group discussed their maturation from girls to young women. A new “colourful website” was hyped a few times. There was an underlying tone to respect their business acumen and to take them seriously as artists and adults. LeToya Luckett, LaTavia Roberson, Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé Knowles had grown up together in the group performing as sisters and Destiny’s Child were in sync
LaTavia Roberson: The writing’s on the wall is a cliché. We thought it was a very positive cliché. It means that something big is about to happen. It's obvious that something is about to happen, and our album is the majority... Well, all of the songs are about life and relationships and sides of love and life that people really don't talk about. There’s always talk about ‘How much I love my baby,' whatever, whatever. But they don't talk about ‘Yeah, but sometimes he be creeping with another woman...’ Kelly Rowland: Or he cheated on me, or you cheated on him. LaTavia Roberson: You know what I’m saying! Beyoncé Knowles: But really, I don't think the album is about cheating on.
